Vista29 brings together many partners to redevelop a distressed motel into permanently supportive housing. The site was initially purchased by Charlottesville Area Community Foundation for use as a pandemic-era emergency shelter operated by Blue Ridge Area Coalition for the Homeless (BRACH) with the intent of  

The project is a joint venture between SupportWorks, phase 1 developer of Vista29, and Piedmont Housing Alliance, who is planning a second phase of affordable housing. A future third phase will provide office space for non-profit organizations. 

Vista29 will provide 80 homes to unhoused and extremely low-income individuals with on-site services in a supportive community environment. The building features a community room, meditative garden space, and is designed to high standards of sustainability, meeting EarthCraft Gold and US Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Homes standards.
