Premier Circle

This partnership-driven project provides a variety of affordable housing options on a site currently occupied by a former motel. Project partners include SupportWorks Housing, Piedmont Housing Alliance, Thomas Jefferson Area Coalition for Homelessness, and People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry (PACEM). On the Premier Circle site, this coalition will supply housing options ranging from emergency shelter to permanent supportive housing and affordable family, senior and workforce housing. The combined project required an intensive rezoning approval in close collaboration with the Albemarle County Department of Planning, the Planning Commission, the Board of Supervisors and adjacent residential neighborhood associations. The Supportive Housing is the first phase of the overall project and provides 80 single occupancy residential units along with interior and exterior common space, training facilities, supportive services, and a resident manager’s unit. The building is being detailed to Earthcraft Gold and Net Zero Energy Ready sustainability standards. Concurrent with the construction of the first phase is a coordination with the existing facilities to preserve and support TJACH and PACEM’s operations for emergency housing on the remainder of the site.
