Blue Ridge School Faculty Housing

Set in the context of the English Country Gothic Revival Gibson Chapel and neighboring Battle House, the new residences joined an extraordinary neighborhood of the campus. The Chapel and Rectory were traditionally seen as the termination of the central grounds of the campus. This project provided an opportunity to create an intimate and lovely private pocket of homes tucked in behind the most beautiful buildings at Blue Ridge. Placed at the historic end of the main grounds these new homes create places where faculty and their families can enjoy their privacy and the beautiful landscape they inhabit.

At the Blue Ridge School, all students live on the mountain campus, as do most of the faculty. This tight-knit community creates a genuine sense of family and multi-generational home-away-from-home for the students. It was important that these homes were also places where young men could enjoy the support and inspiration of being in a community where there really is a team that is dedicated to their intellectual, moral and spiritual growth.
