David is Senior Associate at brwarchitects and has practiced architecture since 2003. He has lead design and management on a wide variety of projects including educational, multi-use commercial, historic preservation, high-end residential and master planning. David is focused on the revelation of craft through detail, the reciprocal relationship between building and site, and implementation of sustainability through sensible passive design principles. Discovering connections with literature and art is an important part of David’s design process and a way to further enrich our history and place.
David has been involved with Big Brothers as well as Habitat for Humanity, has participated in the Historic Green Springs Association, is a supporter of natural preservation organizations such as Wild Virginia and the Old Growth Forest Network and enjoys volunteering and coaching within numerous local youth organizations. David is currently a member and vice chair of the Charlottesville Architectural Review Board.
